Cleveland’s St. Malachi Parish run/walk set a new world record with 3,000 participants in sport kilts, supporting food relief efforts.
On March 14, 2026, Cleveland’s St. Malachi Parish hosted its 47th annual run/walk, setting an unofficial world record with about 3,000 participants wearing sport kilts, surpassing the previous record of 2,040 set in 2019.
The two-mile race, held on West 25th Street, was overseen by Guinness World Records officials via live stream, with on-site counting by Mark Durno.
Despite cold weather, runners and families, including pets like a corgi in a kilt, participated in the event supporting Malachi Ministries, which combats food insecurity.
A five-mile race, marching band, and a man in a Bigfoot costume added to the festive atmosphere.
The final record submission is pending official verification.
