Speaking after a UK-Ireland summit, he confirmed cabinet-approved legislation now allows sworn testimony for the Omagh Bombing Inquiry, following a similar process used in the Kingsmill case.
Martin emphasized Ireland’s commitment to the revised UK-Ireland Legacy Framework, which removes controversial immunity provisions and establishes a dedicated legacy unit within An Garda Síochána.
He called the framework a “generational opportunity” to support victims and advance justice.
