India's markets grow stronger amid global turmoil, SEBI chair says.
SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey said on March 14, 2026, that India’s capital markets are growing deeper and more resilient despite global volatility from geopolitical tensions, energy disruptions, and technological change.
He noted strong growth in market capitalization, investor participation, and the corporate bond market over the past decade, with mutual fund assets rising over 20% annually.
Pandey urged retail investors to remain patient, stressing that volatility is normal and markets historically recover from major shocks.
He emphasized that market strength lies in efficiency, transparency, and stability during stress, supported by reforms like faster settlement and improved surveillance.
