HyProMag USA, with ILS, has launched a rare earth magnet pre-processing system in Williston, South Carolina, using automated units to extract magnets from end-of-life hard drives at a rate of about 60,000 drives weekly.
The facility supports HyProMag’s “hub-and-spoke” strategy, supplying feedstock to a planned recycling hub in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The project is expected to create 90–100 skilled U.S. jobs and strengthens domestic supply chains for critical materials used in advanced manufacturing and AI.
Federal, state, and local leaders praised the initiative for boosting national security, sustainability, and economic growth.
