The federal government’s $16M+ in funding helped Sudbury exceed housing targets, with 2,000 new homes planned by 2028.
The federal government is supporting housing growth in Sudbury with over $16 million in Housing Accelerator Fund funding since 2024, helping the city streamline approvals, adopt digital permitting, and fast-track construction.
These efforts have enabled Sudbury to exceed its housing targets and are on track to permit 2,000 new homes by March 2028.
Major projects, including the $73 million Manitou apartment tower and other seniors and transitional housing developments, have created more than 500 units.
Additional federal investments, including $28 million, are unlocking nearly 3,300 new homes.
MP Viviane Lapointe said removing regulatory barriers is key to sustained growth, and Sudbury has emerged as a top performer among Ontario communities receiving HAF funding.
