An elderly man was found dead and his wife critically injured in a NSW home; a man was arrested but released as police investigate.

A man in his 70s was found dead and a woman of the same age was critically injured at a home on Gisborne Street in Wellington, New South Wales, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, after emergency services responded to a welfare concern. Police from the Orana Mid-Western Police District, assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad under Strike Force Fedonia, secured the scene and launched an investigation. A 30-year-old man was arrested nearby but later released as inquiries continue. The woman was airlifted to hospital in critical condition.
