A Dublin judge has sharply criticized the Child and Family Agency for failing to locate a 13-year-old boy in state care who has been missing since February 17, calling the response “beggars belief” and “unacceptable.” The boy, who has a history of risk-taking and substance misuse, has not been seen by any professional in nearly a month despite a court order requiring a suitable placement.
The CFA has not secured an alternative to the Special Emergency Arrangement since November, and the case has appeared before the court six times in four weeks.
The judge emphasized the boy’s ongoing risk of harm and the urgent need for compliance with the court’s directive.
