Canada funds $910K for Saskatchewan startup program to aid entrepreneurs.
The Canadian government has allocated $910,000 through PrairiesCan to support Saskatchewan’s SK Startup Institute, a program run by the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority.
The funding will provide early-stage assistance to entrepreneurs across the province, including one-on-one advising, workshops, and online and in-person services, over the next two years.
The initiative aims to help 2,500 clients annually, deliver 6,000 advisory sessions, and train 1,200 participants, supporting business development from idea to launch.
The program, which has previously helped 1,373 entrepreneurs in 2025, focuses on improving access to resources, mentorship, and business planning tools to strengthen rural economic growth and job creation in Prairie communities.
