Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia have submitted ₹50,000 surety bonds after being discharged by the Rouse Avenue court in the Delhi excise policy case, which alleged a ₹100 crore conspiracy. The court acquitted 23 accused on February 27, 2024, citing lack of evidence, flawed CBI investigation, and inconsistent witness statements. It criticized the CBI for including key figures without proof and for using unsubstantiated terms like "South Group." The CBI has appealed the decision, and the Delhi High Court has stayed the court’s critical remarks. The case, based on a 2022 charge sheet, centered on allegations of irregularities in the excise policy, but the court found no criminal intent or valid conspiracy.
