AIMIM's Owaisi demands Telangana CM fulfill unkept 2023 minority promises, citing stalled welfare, education, and housing initiatives.
AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi has urged Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to fulfill unmet promises to minorities from the Congress party’s 2023 manifesto, Abhaya Hastham, stating most commitments remain unimplemented two years after the government took office.
He cited lack of action on a Rs 4,000 crore minorities welfare budget, an unlaunched Rs 1,000 crore loan scheme for youth and women, and failure to establish the Sikh Minority Finance Corporation.
Key initiatives including educational support, filling vacancies in minority institutions, special recruitment for Urdu teachers, and raising honorariums for religious functionaries have not advanced.
Efforts to reclaim wakf properties, protect cemeteries, and amend the Minorities Commission Act are stalled, while housing and marriage assistance schemes remain partially or fully unfulfilled.
Owaisi emphasized the need for immediate implementation.
