Democratic Representative Jim Clyburn, 85, announced he will seek re-election for an 18th term in the U.S. House of Representatives, defying calls for generational change within the party.
The South Carolina Democrat, who has served since 1992 and held top leadership roles, cited strong support from family and constituents, his health, and a commitment to advancing a "more perfect union" as reasons for running.
