A 17-year-old Dublin teen, Aoibhe Martin-Quinn, died from acute MDMA toxicity after a concert at the 3Arena on March 18, 2024, following consumption of ecstasy, ketamine, nitrous oxide, and alcohol. A coroner’s inquest revealed pre-planned drug use, chaotic crowd conditions outside the venue, and inadequate security staffing. Her mother expressed concern over unchanged safety protocols, citing another recent death at the same venue. The coroner plans to raise these issues with 3Arena management.
