Two hackers sentenced to prison for cyberstalking and extorting a disabled man, whose suicide followed their abuse.
Trysten Cullen and Jade Stone were sentenced to federal prison for cyberstalking and extorting Christopher Tsoulos, a 37-year-old Charlotte fast-food worker with intellectual disabilities, after stealing his phone and threatening to falsely accuse him of misconduct.
The harassment, which included demands for money and threats to expose private information, contributed to Tsoulos’ suicide in September 2024.
Cullen received 41 months, Stone 27 months, with both ordered to three years of supervised release and $26,699 in restitution.
The case, described as rare and egregious, highlights the dangers of targeting vulnerable individuals online.
