A March 2026 survey by the Israel Democracy Institute reveals deep divisions in Israel over Operation Roaring Lion, a military campaign against Iran.
Most Israeli Jews support the operation, with 71% believing it will destroy Iran’s nuclear and missile programs and 60% expecting regime change, while 65% of Israeli Arabs oppose it and doubt its success.
Only 15% of Arab respondents feel protected from missile attacks, compared to higher perceived safety among Jews.
Both groups largely expect the operation to last less than a month, with most anticipating it will end within three weeks.
The survey included 603 adults, forming a representative sample of Israel’s population.
