A restored concert film of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 1972 Madison Square Garden performances, his only full-length shows after The Beatles’ breakup, will screen in U.S. theaters on April 29 and May 3.
The benefit concerts raised over $1.5 million—equivalent to about $11.5 million today—for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The film, restored and remixed by Sean Ono Lennon using high-resolution multitracks, includes rare footage, re-edited scenes, and enhanced audio formats.
It coincides with the 57th anniversary of Lennon and Ono’s wedding, with tickets going on sale March 20.
