Pony.ai expanded driverless rides in Guangzhou via WeChat, boosting access in China’s top digital platform.
Pony.ai has expanded its robotaxi service in Guangzhou by integrating with Tencent Mobility, allowing users to book fully driverless rides via WeChat’s “Mobility Services” portal.
The move, part of a 2025 partnership with Tencent Cloud, enhances access within China’s largest digital ecosystem, building on prior availability through a WeChat Mini Program and paving the way for future integration with Tencent Maps.
The company, which launched fully driverless ride-hailing in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen since 2025, now operates over 1,159 robotaxis, with plans to exceed 3,000 by year-end 2026.
It continues expanding partnerships with Chinese platforms like Alipay, Amap, and Jinjiang Taxi, as well as global firms including Stellantis, Uber, Bolt, and ComfortDelGro to support testing and deployment abroad.
