Ontario funds $217K in accessibility upgrades across four communities to improve access for seniors and people with disabilities.
The Ontario government has awarded $217,658.50 through the EASE Grant to fund four accessibility projects in the Renfrew–Nipissing–Pembroke region.
Pembroke will install accessible pathways at Waterfront Park, while Deep River, Horton, and McNab/Braeside will receive funds for an elevator, ramp and walkway, and slip-resistant surfacing, respectively.
Each project receives up to $60,000 to improve access with features like ramps, elevators, and safer walkways.
The funding aims to remove barriers and promote inclusion for seniors and people with disabilities in public spaces.
