Fathi Khalil, 45, of western Sydney, has been charged with manslaughter and using an unlicensed firearm in connection with the death of a 47-year-old man during a hunting trip on March 1, 2024, near Walgett, NSW. The victim died from a gunshot wound after reportedly falling from a ute. Police responded, collected all firearms used, and referred the case to the coroner. Over two years later, Khalil was arrested at Mount Druitt Police Station, granted conditional bail, and is set to appear in Walgett Local Court on May 11.
