A high-speed chase began Thursday morning on the 710 Freeway in Los Angeles after officers tried to stop a driver for speeding, with the suspect fleeing at speeds up to 115 mph, running red lights, and driving erratically.
The pursuit, which started in South Los Angeles and moved through the San Gabriel Valley and Commerce, ended when the suspect abandoned a white Toyota Corolla in a Bell neighborhood near River Drive, entered a single-story home, and was met by a dog.
CHP units surrounded the residence, initiating a standoff.
