Maharashtra faces industrial crisis due to gas shortages from West Asia conflict, prompting state action on exports, land use, and new investments.
Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant said the state will raise export financing, fuel supply, and gas shortages with the central government due to the West Asia crisis impacting industries, particularly in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where gas reserves last only three to twelve days.
The state plans joint meetings with gas suppliers, may approach Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, and is cracking down on companies not using allotted industrial land for over a decade.
It also aims to acquire 8,000 acres for future investments, with MoUs worth ₹60,000 crore and potential for ₹40,000 crore more in funding, while enforcing strict action against gas distribution malpractices.
