LSU women’s basketball player Flau’jae Johnson has been named the first Kay Yow Servant Leader of the Year by the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, recognizing her extensive service and advocacy for women’s cancer awareness and care.
Honored for her leadership beyond basketball, Johnson has raised over $25,000, supported mobile mammography in Savannah, provided rent and vehicle assistance to affected families, and expanded access to preventative screenings in Baton Rouge through a $25,000 grant in her name.
The award celebrates her commitment to integrity, selflessness, and community service, inspired by personal loss and her mother’s values.
