Irish politician condemns inflated ticket resales for Ireland vs. Scotland Six Nations match, calling them price gouging despite existing laws.
A Fine Gael TD, John Clendennen, has criticized the resale of tickets for the upcoming Six Nations rugby match between Ireland and Scotland at the Aviva Stadium, calling prices reaching up to €3,072 "blatant price gouging."
Despite the 2021 Sale of Tickets Act, which limits resale above face value, tickets originally priced at €60 to €185 are being resold at significantly inflated rates.
Clendennen said enforcement remains weak, undermining the law’s goal of fair access for fans, and urged authorities to strengthen oversight to protect consumers from exploitation.
