India’s NH-715 Kaliabor-Numaligarh highway project, with wildlife-friendly design, has drawn 18 bids for its ₹6,956 crore upgrade.
The National Highways Authority of India has received 18 bids for the Rs 6,956 crore Kaliabor to Numaligarh section of NH-715 in Assam, approved in January 2026 and inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
The 85.6 km project, to be built on an EPC basis, includes a 34.5 km elevated corridor to protect wildlife movement between Kaziranga National Park and Karbi Anglong hills, along with bypasses, bridges, flyovers, and service roads.
Environmental safeguards were ensured through consultations with wildlife agencies and approval from the National Board of Wildlife.
The upgrade from two to four lanes aims to boost regional connectivity, tourism, and economic development in Assam.
