Indian officer Kompella Venkata Ramana Murty appointed to SEBI for three years, filling vacancy.
Kompella Venkata Ramana Murty, a 1991-batch Indian Defence Accounts Service officer, has been appointed as a three-year term whole-time member of India’s Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), filling a vacancy and bringing the total to four such members.
His appointment, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, marks a return to SEBI after prior service as a part-time member representing the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
The board, led by Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey since March 1, 2025, includes four part-time members.
Pandey recently highlighted the growing role of Alternative Investment Funds in financing key sectors like renewables and supply chains to bolster economic resilience amid global uncertainties.
