A Delhi court sent the Antrix-Devas case back to Bengaluru, citing proper jurisdiction under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
A New Delhi Special CBI court has returned the charge sheet in the Antrix-Devas case after 10 years, ruling it lacked jurisdiction and directing the CBI to refile the case in Bengaluru, where key events under the Prevention of Corruption Act occurred.
The decision followed a challenge by accused Veena S Rao, whose lawyers argued that all major activities, including those involving ISRO, Antrix, and Devas Multimedia, took place in Karnataka.
The court agreed, stating jurisdiction must align with where offences under the PC Act occurred, not where administrative decisions were made.
The CBI had claimed Delhi jurisdiction due to meetings and approvals in the capital.
The case, involving allegations of illegal spectrum leasing in 2005, previously prompted orders for further probe into former officials SK Das and RG Nadadur.
