A 29-year-old Thorold man, Logan Carter, was sentenced to six years in prison in 2025 for sexually exploiting a 12-year-old New Jersey girl he met online.
He was convicted on charges including making child pornography, luring a child, and exposing himself, after months of sexually charged messages and daily images of his genitals.
Carter planned to travel from Ontario to meet the girl, and evidence including maps and home images was found during a search.
Despite claiming his devices were hacked, prosecutors presented text messages and tattoo photos linking him to the crimes.
The judge called the offenses predatory and harmful, and Carter’s sentence was reduced by seven months for time served.
He showed no remorse, and his bail was revoked after conviction.
