The "Barbie: A Cultural Icon" exhibition at the New York State Museum in Albany has been extended through April 26, offering more time to view over 300 artifacts from Barbie’s 64-year history, including the original 1959 doll, vintage Dreamhouses, and prototype designs.
The exhibit traces Barbie’s evolution alongside shifts in fashion, pop culture, and gender roles, while also showcasing Ken’s 65-year history through changing styles.
Located in the West Gallery, it features interactive photo opportunities and is part of a traveling show curated by Karan Feder and produced by Illusion Projects.
The extension follows renewed public interest sparked by the 2023 Barbie film.
