A 19-year-old woman settled for a four-figure sum after being injured in a crowd surge at Glasgow’s 2023 TRNSMT Festival due to poor crowd control.
A 19-year-old woman, Jessica Gatherer, has received a four-figure settlement after being severely injured in a crowd surge at the 2023 TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow.
She suffered a torn knee ligament and soft tissue damage when pushed against a fence during a sudden crowd movement following a delay in stage access and the removal of a fencing panel.
The incident, which occurred while waiting to see Becky Hill, left her unable to work for six months and forced her to cancel a trip to Turkey.
Her legal team argued that organizers ESM Operations and DF Concerts failed to implement proper crowd control, citing CCTV evidence that earlier entry could have prevented the surge.
Though all defendants denied liability, the case settled out of court with ESM and DF each paying half the amount, and G4S released.
Gatherer criticized the lack of first aid and lost accident report, calling the experience traumatic.
