A 27-year-old UK-to-Ireland migrant denied raping an 8-year-old in Dublin, with evidence linking him via Deliveroo data; judge denied bail.

A 27-year-old former Deliveroo driver, who entered Ireland from the UK two years ago without valid immigration status, appeared in Dublin District Court on March 11, 2026, charged with the sexual assault of an eight-year-old girl in north Dublin on February 15. He denied the charge, and prosecutors presented Deliveroo location data and timestamps as evidence. Authorities seized his work gear, phone, and personal documents during a search. The man, who left Deliveroo about two weeks before the alleged incident, is also under investigation for two additional incidents. Judge Michele Finan found the prosecution’s case credible and denied bail, remanding him in custody at Cloverhill Prison ahead of his next court date on March 18. Legal aid was granted.
