A 21-year-old Jamestown woman was arrested for attacking a police officer during a welfare check, leading to her transfer to a state hospital.
A 21-year-old Jamestown woman, Emily Leona Sather, was arrested on March 11, 2026, after allegedly assaulting a police officer during a welfare check at her home.
Officers, who had responded to the residence 14 times since October, said Sather lunged at and punched an officer multiple times before being tased and handcuffed.
The officer sustained bruises and cuts, was treated, and returned to duty.
Sather was taken to a medical center and later transferred to the North Dakota State Hospital.
The incident is under review by the Stutsman County State’s Attorney’s office for possible charges.
