A U.N.-backed panel has accused U.S. political leaders, including former President Trump, of inciting human rights violations through racist hate speech targeting migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, citing dehumanizing rhetoric and aggressive immigration enforcement.
The Geneva-based Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination urged the U.S. to suspend enforcement near schools, hospitals, and religious institutions, criticizing racial profiling by ICE and CBP and the denial of basic services to detained migrants.
It expressed concern over lethal force during operations, including the deaths of two U.S. citizens, and said U.S. policies may violate international human rights law.
The White House dismissed the findings as biased and irrelevant, defending border security and crime reduction efforts.
