Southern Energy Renewables and DOE’s National Lab of the Rockies partner to advance synthetic aviation fuel tech for net-zero emissions.
Southern Energy Renewables and the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Laboratory of the Rockies have signed a CRADA to advance synthetic aviation fuel (SAF) technology that converts syngas and carbon dioxide into jet-ready hydrocarbons using biomass, natural gas, or other carbon sources.
The collaboration aims to improve feedstock flexibility, catalyst durability, and process efficiency, with goals of scaling the technology for commercial deployment and supporting U.S. energy security and aviation decarbonization.
The project builds on prior work with Frontline Bioenergy, DevvStream, and XCF Global, and leverages existing infrastructure to enable net-zero emissions fuel production.
