Six U.S. service members, including Chief Warrant Officer Robert Marzan, were killed in a March 1 drone strike on Kuwait's Port Shuaiba during U.S.-Israel operations against Iran.
The Pentagon has identified Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert Marzan, 54, of Spotsylvania, Virginia, as the sixth U.S. service member killed in a March 1 drone strike on Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, during the U.S.-Israel campaign against Iran. Marzan, a 30-year Army Reserve veteran assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command in Des Moines, Iowa, was among six soldiers killed in the attack, the first American military fatalities in the conflict. He had deployed to Croatia, Bosnia, Egypt, and Kuwait and received multiple honors, including the Bronze Star. The remains of all six were recovered and returned to the U.S. Another soldier was injured in a separate attack at a Saudi base. The U.S. continues military operations, with B-1B Lancers deployed to the U.K. and CENTCOM reporting the destruction of 16 Iranian mine-laying vessels.
