Prysmian partners with Rio Tinto to use zero-emission aluminum in cables, aiming for net zero by 2035.

Prysmian has teamed with Rio Tinto to use ELYSIS™-produced aluminum—created without direct greenhouse gas emissions—in its wire and cable manufacturing, advancing its goal to reach net zero by 2035. The partnership includes a five-year supply agreement for renewable-powered aluminum from Canada and focuses on R&D for recycling, circularity, and supply chain transparency. The move supports growing demand for low-carbon infrastructure, especially in data centers, as Prysmian aims for 55% of its revenue to come from sustainability-linked products by 2028.
