Nigeria’s president nominates Lamido Yuguda as CBN Deputy Governor, pending Senate approval.
President Bola Tinubu has nominated Lamido Abubakar Yuguda, former head of Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission, as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, pending Senate confirmation.
The appointment follows the reassignment of former Deputy Governor Bala Bello to a presidential advisory role.
Yuguda, a seasoned financial expert with decades of experience at the CBN, IMF, and SEC, holds advanced degrees in accountancy and finance and is a Fellow of ICAN and a CFA charterholder.
The nomination complies with Section 8(1) of the CBN Act, 2007.
The Senate has received the nomination and is reviewing it through its Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs.
