Starting June 1, 2026, New Zealand will reduce visitor visa fees for nationals from 13 Pacific Island countries from $216 to $161 for 12 months to strengthen regional ties.
The change, part of broader reforms, includes faster processing and a three-month visa-free trial for Pacific travelers arriving from Australia with a valid Australian visa.
The government will review the program’s impact after one year.
The fee reduction applies to citizens of American Samoa, FSM, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
Citizens from Cook Islands, Niue, Tokelau, Australia, and certain French territories already have visa-free access.
