Mo Chara of Kneecap won a UK High Court ruling dismissing terrorism charges over a 2024 concert flag incident.
Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, known as Mo Chara of the Irish rap group Kneecap, won a legal victory in the UK High Court on March 12, 2026, after prosecutors’ appeal to reinstate terrorism charges was dismissed.
The original case, stemming from a 2024 London concert where he was accused of displaying a Hezbollah flag, was thrown out in September 2025 due to a procedural error—prosecutors failed to obtain the Attorney General’s permission within the six-month deadline for summary offences.
The High Court upheld the dismissal, confirming the case was unlawfully initiated and that no trial would proceed.
Mo Chara and his band maintained the flag was thrown on stage and that their actions were a protest against Western foreign policy, not support for terrorism.
The Crown Prosecution Service accepted the ruling, and the case is now closed.
Mo Chara de Kneecap ganó un fallo del Tribunal Supremo del Reino Unido que desestimó los cargos de terrorismo por un incidente de bandera en un concierto de 2024.
