A man in Australia faces charges for online threats and displaying a Nazi symbol, linked to a social media post reported in Nov. 2025.
A 30-year-old man from Armidale, New South Wales, has been charged with five counts of using a carriage service to menace or harass and one count of displaying a Nazi symbol, following an AFP investigation that began in November 2025 after a threatening social media post was reported.
Authorities linked him to the post and to an image of a Nazi symbol on his account.
On March 11, 2026, police executed a search warrant at his home, and he was granted bail to appear in court on March 30.
The charges carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
The AFP emphasized its ability to identify individuals online, even anonymously, and noted the establishment of specialized national security units in October 2025 to combat extremist threats, particularly those targeting the Jewish community.
