Half of Yoctangee Boulevard closes March 16, 2026, for park renovation, with traffic rerouted and a new roundabout built, ending the Appalachian Community Grant Program’s project.
Half of Yoctangee Boulevard at Mill Street will close on March 16, 2026, due to rain delays, as part of the Appalachian Community Grant Program’s renovation of Yoctangee Park.
Southbound traffic will be diverted to High Street, and Mill Street at Park Street will be blocked, while northbound lanes remain open for school and emergency access.
A smaller urban roundabout with single lanes and enhanced pedestrian safety will be built, with full intersection closure after the school year ends and work expected to finish by late summer.
Yoctangee Park will stay accessible via Paint Street, and Riverside and Mulberry streets should reopen in April.
This marks the final roundabout in the ACGP plan, following public opposition to earlier designs.
