Four people arrested in New Zealand for missing court dates on charges including assault and theft.
Four people—two women aged 29 and 33, and two men aged 32 and 35—were arrested in Whitianga and Coromandel township on the Coromandel Peninsula after failing to appear in court, according to Eastern Waikato Police.
The operation, which involved multiple search warrants and support from East Area officers, targeted individuals with outstanding warrants for charges including assault, burglary, and theft.
Authorities emphasized that remote locations do not provide immunity from legal accountability.
All four remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in Hamilton District Court the following day.
