A Dublin man pleaded guilty to carrying 31kg of cannabis worth €620,000 at Shannon Airport in November 2025.
Seán Grehan, a former Dublin retail worker, has pleaded guilty to possessing 31kg of cannabis valued at €620,000 for supply at Shannon Airport on November 12, 2025, under Ireland’s Section 15A of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
The drugs were found in two suitcases carried by Grehan, who arrived from Boston.
He has been in custody since November 13, 2025, after failing to post a €20,000 bail, though the High Court later reduced the requirement to €2,000.
His legal team cited his fatherhood and ongoing detention as potential mitigating factors.
The case is set for sentencing at Ennis Circuit Court on April 14, 2026, where the mandatory minimum 10-year sentence may be reduced at the judge’s discretion.
