An 18-year-old Georgia teen faces first-degree vehicular homicide charges after a prank gone wrong killed teacher Jason Hughes on March 6.
An 18-year-old Georgia high school student, Jayden Wallace, has spoken out after being charged with first-degree vehicular homicide following a prank gone wrong during the school’s annual "Junior/Senior Wars" tradition.
After toilet-papering teacher Jason Hughes’ home, Wallace and four friends fled in two vehicles.
Hughes, reportedly waiting to confront them, fell into the road and was struck by Wallace’s car.
Authorities had warned students earlier that day to avoid escalating the prank, as rules prohibited targeting vehicles or using hazardous materials.
Wallace expressed deep remorse and pledged to honor Hughes’ memory.
The community raised over $454,000 for Hughes’ two young children.
Four other teens were also charged.
