Uttarakhand allocates ₹1,000 crore for Haridwar Kumbh Mela prep and temple upgrades, boosting spiritual tourism.
The Uttarakhand government has allocated ₹1,000 crore in the 2026-27 budget to prepare for the Haridwar Kumbh Mela and upgrade religious infrastructure around 48 temples under the Manaskhand Temple Mala Mission.
Funds will support projects including the Haridwar-Rishikesh Ganga Corridor, Saryu River Front, and Yamuna Ghat at Haripur Kalsi, along with ₹25 crore for the Nanda Devi Raj Jat pilgrimage, ₹10 crore for a Spiritual Economy Zone, and ₹28 crore for Sanskrit pathshalas.
The state is also promoting year-round pilgrimage through the winter Char Dham Yatra to boost spiritual tourism and economic growth.
