TikTok has pledged $200,000 in ad credits to boost AI media literacy across sub-Saharan Africa, announcing the investment during the third annual Africa Safer Internet Summit in Nairobi.
The funding supports local organizations including Mtoto News, Africa Check, and CJID/DUBAWA in combating misinformation and promoting responsible AI use.
This builds on TikTok’s $2 million Global AI Literacy Fund launched in late 2025.
The platform also highlighted its automated content moderation, which removed over 14 million videos in the region during Q3 2025, with 96.7% detected before user reports, using AI labeling, C2PA technology, and invisible watermarking.
