Three Irish food businesses closed in Feb 2026 over rodent infestations and hygiene failures, then reopened after fixes.
In February 2026, three Irish food businesses—two in Letterkenny, Donegal, and one in Blanchardstown, Dublin—were temporarily closed due to severe hygiene violations, including rodent droppings on food and packaging, a dead mouse under shelving, and inadequate cleaning.
The closures followed inspections by the HSE, which cited pest infestations, structural gaps, and poor food labeling.
A prohibition order was also issued for unlabeled honey beans from Nigeria.
All businesses have since reopened after corrective actions, with enforcement details published on the FSAI website for up to three months.
