Three bombing victims sue Gerry Adams, alleging he led the IRA during attacks, as testimony links him to a 1971 photo showing him in an IRA beret.
Three bombing victims—Jonathan Ganesh, John Clark, and Barry Laycock—are suing former Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams in a London High Court case, alleging he was a senior IRA member and Army Council leader during attacks in the 1970s and 1990s.
A former IRA member, Shane Paul O’Doherty, testified that a 1971 photo shows Adams wearing a beret, which he said was a distinctive symbol of IRA membership and only worn by members.
O’Doherty, who served over 14 years in prison for letter bomb campaigns, claimed he remained in contact with IRA figures after leaving the group in 1977 and believed Adams was active.
Adams denies all allegations, calling the case baseless and time-barred.
The case continues with further testimony.
