Swale Council to vote on 2,500-home Kent housing project on Prince of Wales’ farmland, amid 467 objections over traffic and farmland loss.
Swale Borough Council is set to decide on the first phase of a 2,500-home housing development on Kent farmland owned by the Prince of Wales through the Duchy of Cornwall.
The South East Faversham project, which includes 261 homes, green space, a local centre, and plans for 35% affordable housing, has drawn 467 objections over concerns about traffic, farmland loss, and infrastructure strain.
Despite these, planning documents recommend approval, citing sustainable design, national planning alignment, and benefits like a water recycling centre, improved transport links, and future school and health facilities.
The final decision is scheduled for Tuesday evening.
