Pakistan mandates reproductive health education for students 14 and older in Islamabad, requiring parental consent.
Pakistan’s National Assembly has passed a bill requiring reproductive health education for students aged 14 and above in schools across the Islamabad Capital Territory.
The legislation, which amends the 1976 education act, mandates comprehensive instruction on physical, emotional, mental, and social aspects of reproductive health, with written parental consent required before participation.
The bill, introduced by Shazia Marri and previously approved by the Senate, will take effect upon presidential approval and aims to promote informed decision-making and healthy relationships among youth.
