Monique Widders, 29, of Armidale, was sentenced to nine months in prison for leading a high-speed police chase in Taree on January 12, 2026, while driving under the influence of methamphetamine.
She pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving with an illicit drug in her system, fleeing police after a reported kidnapping, running red lights, and speeding up to 115km/h in a 70km/h zone.
A roadside test confirmed drug use, and she admitted to a three-day methamphetamine binge.
Widders, who had a prior criminal record and was on parole for a robbery conviction, was disqualified from driving for two years and fined $400.
She is eligible for release on June 11, 2026.
