Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after undergoing surgery to remove bone chips from his right elbow, with a return expected in July. The procedure, scheduled for Wednesday in Los Angeles, will also assess potential ligament damage. Greene, 26, has struggled with recurring injuries, including a groin strain and previous elbow issues, limiting him to 107.2 innings in 2025 despite a 2.76 ERA and a top fastball velocity in MLB. He made just one spring training appearance, allowing four runs in one inning. The Reds will open the season with left-hander Andrew Abbott as their starter.
